Take a Tour of the Weta Cave

Go On A Beehive Tour
Go on a guided tour of the Beehive and look around Banquet Hall, Beehive Theatre, Parliamentary House and the Debating room! These tours are an hour long and they are free!
Go to the Wellington Museum
This museum is located on Queens Wharf along the waterfront and is free entry. Go along and learn about the history of Wellington including the Maritime history, all about the Wahine disaster and check out all the Maori art!

Located in Courtney Place, The Ballroom offers lots and lots of pool tables and they also have a bar for you to enjoy a beer or a wine! So grab some friends and head on down for a fun day!
Take a Tour of Government House
Government House is a heritage building and is home to New Zealand Governors. This amazing 2 storey house has dozens of rooms including an apartment, a ballroom, a sitting room, conservatory, kitchens and offices!
The free tours are about 2 hours long and bookings are a must.

Go Indoor Rock Climbing
If you’re feeling fit, then head to the Wellington Waterfront and go indoor rock climbing at Ferg’s Kayaks. Fun for everyone!

Visit Te Papa – probably the most popular out of all Wellington activities!
Go visit the famous multi-level museum of Wellington, Te Papa. See it’s amazing exhibitions then grab a bite to eat downstairs at the cafe.

Head to Miramar and see a movie and enjoy some lunch or dinner or maybe even a cocktail made by the famous Ray at The Roxy!

This museum was first opened in 1977 to commemorate the arrival of the first British immigrants . Enjoy the local history of first British immigrants to Petone!

Go to the Kilbirnie Pool
Fun for the whole family, this aquatic centre has toddler pools, a dive pool, spas and all different depth pools, a gym upstairs as well as a cafe.

Go Shopping at Westfield Mall
As the saying goes, shop till you drop at Lower Hutt’s Westfield mall! The mall has over 130 shops and two food courts so I am sure you will find something there that tickles your fancy. Treat yourself to a relaxing massage or get your nails done!
Food wise, I recommend the Shamiana curry place and get yourself a healthy drink at Tank, they are just so good!
