Well hello you! Welcome to my travel blog! Just so you know who is behind the ramblings on this blog, I’ll introduce myself! I’m Adrienne and I have started this blog to show Wellington to the world!

Although I was not born in New Zealand, I have lived here for about 30 years. I lived in a few different countries previously, Hungary (where I was born), Italy, Switzerland, France and USA and eventually I came to New Zealand with my father.

So I was actually planning a trip to Europe last year, I had planned on going to visit my family in Hungary and also making a trip to Italy, Spain, Austria and Greece…and…then Covid happened (insert sad face here).

How about you, have you had your travel plans disrupted this year? Annoying huh?!

For that reason, I had the idea of starting my travel blog. I figured there would be lots of people around the world in the same boat as me, having to cancel their amazing holidays.

I thought I could bring Wellington to you virtually through my travel blog and show you around this great city. Hopefully one day when it is safe to travel, I hope to make you want to travel here and check it out for yourself!

From time to time, I do travel to other parts of New Zealand for little weekend getaways. When I do, I will show you around those cities and towns also!

I hope to give you an idea of the best places to visit, the amazing cafes (there’s a real coffee culture in this city!), restaurants and of course the best things to do in Wellington! Along with some information on how to get around, what to do on a rainy day and costs of the activities .

About Wellington

So let me tell you a little bit about Wellington now…

Wellington, is in the North Island of New Zealand and it’s one of the best capital cities in the world to live. This amazing city is compact but it does offer great restaurants, cool little tucked away cafes, lots of shopping down the Lambton Quay strip, music bars, theaters, museums, a zoo, breweries, a number of beaches and botanical gardens to explore. There is definitely something for the whole family!
